Hey Parents! We could use the help of your teen this week. This summer we have been meeting at a warehouse to re-package soccerballs that are being sent to South Africa and India to be used as a way to reach children with the message of Jesus. This week we will meet at the warehouse at 129 Roweland Drive at 3:30pm and you can pick up at 5:30pm. Feel free to stay and serve with us if you like. We’ve already packaged around 5000 balls and I expect us to have around 20000 balls left. Email me if you have any questions. Jason
Hey Parents! Last Sunday we kicked off the school year with a series called Spotlight. We had over 130 middle school students singing, playing and hanging out. What a great group of students we have! Last sunday we talked about the fact that Jesus is the light and gives life. So many people in our world think that a committment to Christ will only bring restriction and boredom, but in reality, only Jesus can give us life, purpose for living and make us shine. Since moving into the new building we are still working on gettting our recording equipment up and running, so that you can engage your teen in conversation. Stay tuned! jason
Hey Parents. We would love to have your new 6th grader join us for free dessert at Sonic this Sunday in order to meet our volunteer youth staff.
Also, let me give you to rundown of our meeting times. Starting August 10th - all middle school students (6-8 grades) will be welcome to attend our large group program which meets in the new building upstairs. Feel free to escort you son/daughter upstairs and check our our new hangout area and auditorium. We would love to meet you! We meet from 10:30am to 11:40am for worship, teaching, video, skits, games and more.
C-Groups begin Septemeber 10th. Our small groups are grade and gender specific. Each of our groups are lead by an incredible small group leader. Many of our groups have two leaders which are there to support you in leading your child to become a follower of Jesus. Our c-groups meet on Wednesday nights from 6:30pm-8:00pm. You can drop off and pick them up at the front entrance.
If anytime you any questions, feel free to email me at jpoeffel@gracejohnsoncity.com.
We hope your rising 7th-rising 9th grader can make it! You can drop-off at the front of the church at 6:45pm and pickup at 9:00pm. The cost is $1.00 plus one can food item that we will be donating to the food bank. Email me if you have any questions! Jason

We had more technical difficulties yesterday with they recording. The Hard Disk filled up about half way through our meeting. Because this is just helpful information, I am going to re-record this information and post it on this Post this afternoon. This topic is very important for both students and parents. Feel free to encourage other parents to listen to this audio!
Here are the tips that I told students I would post yesterday.
Tips for Success
Don’t pressure your parents to let you have a facebook.
You will live without Facebook! Peer Pressure.
Invite your parents to get one with you. (make sure they are your friend)
Ditch the network – control your circle of friends.
Be careful what you upload
Some pictures are not meant to be public
Don’t give away too much information
Don’t use your full name.
Remember the Mini-Feed
Be careful what you write on someone’s wall
Be careful what groups you join – there are groups out there that as Believers in Jesus, we should avoid.
Stay away from Myspace, Xanga and Blogger
Why – They are open communities
You make think you are talking to a cute 16 yr boy, when in reality it is a worn out 65 yr old man.
Request to have your computer moved out of your room or other private location. Accountability is good.
